What we collect

Signing in provides your public GitHub username and numeric account ID. We keep your Terms acceptance version and time, project descriptions, repository links, optional server addresses, community picks, and moderation records. We discard the GitHub access token after checking your identity. We do not request access to private repositories or permission to change repositories.

What is public

Only moderator-published project listings are public. Your username appears as the creator of your published listings. Published server addresses are visible to anyone, so never submit passwords, access tokens, private network addresses, or an address you are not authorized to publish. Public pick activity identifies the project, not the person who picked it. Unpublished submissions are available to their creator and authorized moderators.

Cookies and hosting

Essential cookies keep you signed in and protect requests: rp_session expires after 30 days, rp_csrf after 30 days, and rp_oauth_state after 10 minutes. Signing out ends the current session. We do not add advertising cookies or analytics trackers. Cloudflare hosts the website and database and processes network information such as IP addresses and request logs to deliver and secure the service. GitHub processes sign-in requests under its own privacy policy.

Retention and removal

Account and project information is retained while needed to operate your account and the directory. Withdrawing a listing hides it immediately but does not erase stored metadata or moderation history. Expired sessions and incomplete sign-in attempts are periodically removed. For deletion, correction, or a copy of your information, contact rights@rustports.com with your GitHub username and request. We may ask you to verify control of that account. Do not send passwords or authentication codes. We will explain any records that must be retained for security, disputes, or legal obligations.

Third-party connections

Opening GitHub or joining a creator-operated server is your choice. Those services can receive your network information and have their own privacy and safety practices. RustPorts does not host games, connect to listed game servers, or relay game traffic.
